NFC Least Week 6

Giants and Eagles Make the NFC Least Proud

Now the nation knows why we call it the NFC Least. The two teams in Week 6 vying for first place play on national television. This should have been a quality contest. Football fans instead received an early Halloween while being forced to watch a nightmarish game. They witnessed a combined 7 turnovers and 21 penalties for 164 yards. When two professional football teams from the same division play like two pee-wee football teams we can't help but call it the NFC Least.

Eli Manning started the game sharp successfully completing his first 10 passes. He already connected with Odell Beckum on the first drive for a TD and on their second possession approaching the red zone Eli throws a pass to Giants TE Larry Donnell. Donnell. The ball is stripped from Donnell by Eagles LB Demaco Ryans.

The Interrecption

For years we have mentioned a needed NFL statistic called the Interrecption. This would identify a pass that goes into the hands of the WR but ends up in the hands of a defender. Today this is an interception even though the QB put the ball where it should be while the Wide Receiver makes the blunder or is outplayed by a defender who is also credited with the interception. The QB in this case Eli Manning should not be punished in the stat book with an interception. Instead the fault should be placed on the intended receiver. Hence the INTERRECPTION.

The Eagles took advantage of the interrecption and within 1:45 Sam Bradford connected with Sturgis for a 32 yard TD.

The momentum really shifted on the Giants next drive. Eli led the Giants on a 3 1st down drive for 30 yards that on the Eagles 41. The Giants were at 4th and 1 in the area of the field where a field goal is too far and a punt too close to a touchback. Giants Rasheed Jennings was stuffed for a 2 yard loss and Eagle fans went ballistic.

Giants checked out of the game at this point. Sam Bradford tried his best to get teh Giants back in it by throwing 3 interceptions. Eagles WR Jordan Mathews also tried to help the Giants with a fumble. The mighty New York Football Giants stayed true to the NFC Least mantra and would have none of it. Eli threw a perfect pick 6 to Eagles corner Nolan Carroll. Rasheed Jennings followed with a fumble on the next drive.

This was truly a battle of the NFC Least as neither team wanted the win. Giant fans are hoping this is not a return to last season. In 2014 the Giants went to Philly in early Oct with a 3-2 record. They promptly got their ass kicked 27-0. They went on to lose 7 in a row. We think since the Giants did score a TD perhaps they will only lose 4 in a row.

REDSKINS Fall to Jets 34-20
The Redskins added to the legend of the NFC Least by losing to the Jets 34-20. The Redskins QB Kurt Cousins threw 2 interceptions while Jets QB Ryan Fitzpatrick threw 1 but Jets also lost 2 fumbles. Redskins utilized an anemic passing game with a porous defense to give the Jets the win.  Cousins threw the ball 43 times for an amazing 196 yards. Seriously how can you pass that many times and not pass the 200 yard mark when in all reality he should be surpassing the 300 yard mark. You can blame your QB all you want for throwing interceptions but with stats like this I look to the coach, the offensive coordinator or whoever is designing these plays. They certainly are top candidates for the coveted NFC Least Most Valuable Asset.

COWBOYS
Did not look bad only because they did not play and enjoyed a well timed bye week. They should be well rested to face the Giants in the swamps of Jersey this Sunday week 7.

WEEK 7

Cowboys vs Giants
One of these two teams will move up in the standings. A Giants win could put the Gmen back in first with a 4-3 reocrd and an Eagles loss to the Panthers. On the other side of the coin a loss could send them back to the cellar. Cowboys are coming off a bye and still without QB Tony Romo and WR Dez Bryant. They still have one of the best offensive lines in the league and thanks to JPP 4th of July extravaganza the Giants are not able to rush the QB. Cowboys QB of the Week, Matt Cassel could have a good day.
Our prediction: Matt Cassel's uniform doesn't get dirty but Giants find their way back to first place.

Eagles vs Carolina
Panthers are undefeated the Eagles look terrible in every game so far. Will they be able to surprise the Panthers and use the Giants win to wake their very talented asses up?
Our prediction: Panthers solid play allows them to capitalize on a mistake prone Eagles offense.

 Tampa Bay vs Redskins
The Bucs are one of the teams that would fit nicely in the NFC Least. The Bucs have allowed a paltry 202 yards of passing per game but they have been very generous when it comes to allowing the opposition to score. They are 31st in the league with points allowed per game.
Our prediction: Redskins fans wake Monday with a guilty smile having made less mistakes then the Bucs

 INJURY UPDATE

 DANIEL FELLS
Finally some good news regarding Giants TE Daniel Fells. He was released from the hospital and it appears his body has finally defeated the MRSA virus.

Good News for Fells. Prayers still needed

VICTOR CRUZ
Cruz is still not cleared to run but he has been working out in an underwater treadmill program. He will be undergoing an MRI this week which will determine if he can start running again. There is no way he will be suiting up to play the Cowboys

JOHN PIERRE-PAUL
The ole Firecarcker himself will report to the team facility sometime this week. Giant Doctors are expected to examine whats left of his hand. The Giants are desperate for a pass rush but we are starting to get they are going to somehow let JPP go. Currently JPP is not getting paid as we was unsigned and designated as a franchise player which invokes various legal implications. JPP would have received 14.8 million as a franchise player and that is the figure the Giants salary cap is being charged. Rumors are this figure has been renegotiated downwards to 9.5 million but the Giants are still reluctant to pay him that much. We anticipate this will get uglier before it gets resolved.

WILL BEATTY
Giants left tackle is recovering from surgery following his May injury. Will suffered a torn pectoral muscle while lifting weights. He was placed on the Physically Unable to Perform list and is expected to begin practicing sometime this week. Coughlin says he has alot of work ahead of him and will not be rushing him back into the lineup.

NFC Least Week 5

Giants find a way

On paper the Giants 49ers match up looks like a sure win for the Giants. Giant fans have learned to be weary about sure wins and for good reasons which we don't need to discuss here.

The 49ers are struggling to say the least. They have talent but seem to be stuck trying to find themselves.  Heading into the Sunday night matchup they are 1-3 with a 3 game losing streak.

Late Sunday night with the 49ers leading 27-23 and 1:45 left in the game the NFC Least was 1:45 away from a four way tie for last place. The emphasis has to be on LAST place since all teams would have a losing 2-3 record

From the opening kickoff to the final 10 seconds both teams were desperately fighting for the win. It was a physical game. In the first drive Giants LB Jon Beason and 49ers RB Carlos Hyde violently collided. Hyde trying to gain extra yards on a run and Beason trying to stop the it. Beason ended up concussed and out for the remainder of the game.

Through the first half, the Giants stayed ahead of the 49ers looked to break things open as the half ended. But with 11 seconds remaining Eli threw a pick in the back of the end zone. As a result the first half ends with the Gmen leading 13-6 but the 49ers very much alive.

The Giants opened the second half moving the ball 28 yards before their drive stalled and they were forced to punt. The 49ers went to work their first possession of the second half. Colin Kaepernick  marched his team 88 yards for a touchdown to tie the game.

Eli used 4 of his receivers to move the ball 61 yards before finding Odell in the end zone with 1:14 left in the third quarter. Odell took advantage of the national coverage and in Cruz like fashion began to celebrate with a dance. It was definitely not any version of a Salsa more of a WTF dance.  Afterwards Beckum was seen limping on the sidelines. Some speculated it was his the WTF dance but OB insists it occurred a coupe plays earlier.

The Giants defense seems to believe they can exhaust their opposition by allowing them to run up and down the field in the 4th quarter. It took the 49ers 7:09 in the 4th to score twice and take the lead 27-23 with 1:45 left in the game.

The Giants best offensive weapons (Vitcor Cruz and Odell Beckum) were sitting on the sidelines shocked and dismayed. Giant fans were feeling the same way. Giant fans also remember in a addition to a very porous 4th quarter defense they also have a QB who has engineered a couple (27) 4th quarter comebacks and managed a few (32) game winning drives.

Eli started off on the Giants 18 and immediately went to work hitting Shane Vereen for 24 yards. As if to show up Kaepernick Eli decided to scramble 11 yards for a first down. When Eli scrambles 80,000 Giant fans in the stadium collectively hold their breath while another million or so are at home holding theirs. Eli is an incredibly gifted QB but not always the most nimble runner. I give him credit he saw the opening and took off scrambling. Close to the first down Eli decided to lower his pads to try to knock back 49ers CB Tramaine Brock. Well Eli did get 11 yards and the first down on the play.Check for yourself how he did against Brock.

Eli Scrambling almost takes out defender

A couple passes to Shane Vereen an almost interception another Vereen completion. Odell returns to the field and draws a defensive pass interference. Suddenly the Giants find themselves on the 49ers 12 yard line with 21 seconds left.  Eli from the shotgun hits TE Larry Donnell and Donnell makes an amazing catch for the win.

Donnell TOUCHDOWN

And now instead of a four way tie for last place the New York Football Giants sit alone atop the NFC Least, for the moment anyway.

Eagles Show Life

Since the Eagles offense finally found the football field,  the Chase Utley Cheap Shot Philly Mob has been ordered to stand down. The Utley Mob had been hired by local members of the City of Brotherly Love Hate Syndicate to work over Chippee Kelly. Now Kelly and his much ballyhooed offense can focus on a game plan for their favorite team to beat up the New York Football Giants.

Redskins fall to Falcons 25-19 in OT

Next Week Oct 18:

Redskins vs the Jets

Giants vs The Eagles
These teams are one of the NFL's top rivalries of all time. They have been playing each other since the Eagles entered the league in 1933 the Giants lead overall with a  85-78-2 record but more the last 15 games the Eagles  are 11-4 and certainly must enjoy playing the Giants. Coughlin is 8-12

It was almost a year ago today when the 3-2 Giants faced off against the Eagles and were blown away 27-0. Eli was sacked 6 times, Victor Cruz suffered his knee injury that has him still sidelined today. LeSean McCoy ran for 149 yards. A year later our offensive line is improved. Giants Offensive coordinator Ben McAdoo's offense finally seems to be making sense. Chip Kelly got rid of LeSean McCoy.

Monday Night Football the Giants are ranked 29th overall with a 20-33-1 record. The first time the GIants played on a Monday Night was Nov 23 1970 and the Eagles won 23-20. It is rumored Howard Cosell was so cold he started drinking so much to keep warm he allegedly threw up on Don Meredith's cowboy boots.

Intro to the First MNF Eagles Giants matchup. Includes a Marlboro cigarette commercial

Cowboys
Get their second Bye in a week this time it will not count as a Loss.

Giants Injury Update:

Odell Beckham and Rueben Randle

Both receivers came out of the game in the 2nd half after suffering hamstring injuries. Odell insists the rumor he hurt himself during his TD celebration is not true. Odell did return during the final minutes of the game.  There is no official word yet on either WR. Giant fans fingers are crossed and hoping the extra day off this week will allow these players to return for the Eagles game.

Jon Beason

On the first drive of the game Giants linebacker Jon Beason was involved in a violent head on crash with 49ers RB Carlos Hyde. Beason did not return to the game and is now undergoing NFL directed concussion procedures.

Giant fans fingers are crossed and hoping the extra day off this week will allow these players to return fo rthe Eagles game.

Victor Cruz

Rumors rumors rumors. Some say Victor may be able to play Monday Night against the Eagles. No official word. The Cruz news has been silent since Victor received PRP treatment on Oct 1 as we mentioned in  NFC Least Week 4

John Pierre-Paul

The Firecracker news is also quiet. Rumors stating JPP will be back the last month while other rumors state he won't make it back at all this season.

Ralph Cindrich, player turned agent turned author, added a few comments about the Firecracker situation:

"I don't get it with what's going on with Jason Pierre-Paul. You don't have an obligation to cooperate with the team? They don't have a right to know? I think it's pretty obvious it's pretty much screwed up. When you have those circumstances, if the guy can ever come back, you don't want the stigma of a total failure to cooperate."  -Ralph Cindrich

Screwed up? You think Rich? When an NFL franchise player blows half his hand off playing with fu$%^^ firecrackers I'd say that alone is screwed up!

Daniel Fells TE

Tom Coughlin said the Giants dedicated their game performance to TE Daniel Fells and his family. On October 2 Fells wife took him to the emergency room with a high fever. He was immediately admitted to the hospital with a methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) infection A week earlier Fells had injured his toe and ankle. He was administered a cortisone shot for treatment.

Since being admitted to the hospital Fells has undergone multiple surgeries, including removing part of his foot. They will wait a few days to determine if the infection continues to spread which may require further amputation. It is being reported that Fells career is over and now he is fighting for his life.

Declare Your Independence To Stop Polarization

The United States has become an extremely polarized nation. Polarization makes it impossible to solve problems and difficult to conduct intelligent conversations. Today's national and global issues are stacking up and our leaders have become incapable of properly identifying a problem let alone resolve it.

Polarization has embedded itself throughout our society.  Our nation no longer has the ability to rationally discuss an issue. From our highest political offices to our family dinner table we allow our emotions to to block the facts and opinions of others.  Polarization has been fueled by our media and our political leaders.

Politicians have become adept at garnering voter support by politicizing issues. These politicians manipulate the media who in turn manipulate the American public. This politicizing and manipulation emotionally charges the American voter, which in turn limits their intellectual reasoning. President Obama has become a master politician of this sort. Our current incompetent and polarized Congress is not capable of organizing something as simple as a pot luck dinner. A polarized and incompetent Congress has created the opportunity for President Obama to alter and write laws through executive actions. These executive actions can potentially change the role of the Executive Branch.

The media has chosen sides in the issues. They make no attempt to hide their bias. They are more intent on convincing the public to side with their opinions as opposed to reporting facts. Additionally the media strives to increase ratings by igniting the emotions of the public. It is a shame that in the United States there are no mainstream media channels who report news in an unbiased and factual manner.

The politicians and media have brought our nation to a very dangerous emotional and intellectual state. It is a shame they no longer value honor and integrity in running our nation or reporting the news. The real shame however falls on the American people. We allow ourselves to be controlled by the very politicians we empowered with our vote. And we rely on the media for their biased facts instead of seeking the truth by using the incredible amount of resources we have at our fingertips.

In order for America to resolve the dangerous and increasing problems we face today, we must be open minded not only during the problem solving process but especially with identifying the problem. Too often we waste valuable time and resources attempting to solve a problem without fully understanding the problem.

The American Individual must become more involved with the political process. We need hard working honest people to step up and run for office. As individuals we need to support these efforts by encouraging and helping friends and neighbors who would do well to represent us. The House of Representatives was designed to be the People's House not a party house. We need more teachers, bus drivers, factory workers, bartenders, and other intelligent, hard working people and less of the make up wearing, slick talking professional politicians in OUR House representing OUR people.

Benghazi Truth Retold

The Real Benghazi Report:

Hillary and Pres Obama received warnings from April 2012 to Aug 2012 regarding possible attacks on the US consulate in Benghazi.  These "leaders" ignored the warnings and repeated attacks on the consulate.

During the same period intelligence reports were delivered to the President and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton stating a likely attack will occur on the consulate during the 9/11 anniversary.

In August Hillary and President Obama received additional warnings via email, phone call and meetings with several intelligence and security analysts. Ambassador Stevens told Hillary Clinton an attack on Benghazi was likely to occur.

Requests were made to President Obama and Hillary for additional security resources and if resources could not be obtained it was deemed best to temporarily shut down the consulate.

Hillary Clinton and President Obama IGNORED these attacks and IGNORED these reports and pleas by personnel on the ground. These two "leaders" blatantly REFUSED any requests for help.

As a result of President Obama and Hillary Clinton's defiance and ignorance to the pending situation U.S. Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens; information management officer Sean Smith; and two security officers Tyrone Woods and Glen Doherty.were brutally murdered.

I do not understand how a so-called "Leader" can blatantly disregard their own people. It shows a phenomenal amount of arrogance. In my opinion Hillary Clinton and President Obama were accomplices in the murder of these men

This is the type of leadership we have running our nation. Congress has now spent 3 years wasting our money and time for a political game designed to distract the American public until the issue is so far removed from teh short spanned minds of the American people. The Benghazi murders are no longer considered an issue.

To further hide the truth and distract the American people media profiteers such as Rachel Maddow and others are ignoring the murders and directing their resources to the email controversy. There should not be a controversy. If some poor schmuck intelligence analyst was to be caught in Hillary Clinton's server scandal their clearance would be revoked they would be fired immediately and criminal charges would be pending. End of story. Unfortunately Hillary Clinton and her ilk protected by their media soldiers like Rachel Maddow remain above the law.

Beside the murders what saddens me the most is how distracted the American people have become. We allow politicians like Hillary Clinton to continue to profit from their political career. They must laugh at us as we naively accept their lies and continue to allow them to "lead" and control our country. In my opinion leaders with honor and integrity have become a thing of the past because the American people have allowed it.

The NFC Least Week 4

Week 4 finds the NFC East locked in a 3 way tie between the Cowboys, Redskins and Giants all at an even 2-2 closely followed by Chippee Kelly's Eagles bringing up the rear with a 1-3 record.

Giants Stop the Bills 24-10. The Giants headed to Buffalo determined to shut down the Bills impressive run game. Coming into the game the Bills were averaging 121 yards per game. The Giants defense shut down that game by allowing only 55 yards.

Giant fans started having flashbacks to Weeks 1 & 2 in the 4th quarter. Bills QB Tyron Taylor threw a 23 yard TD pass to RB Karlos Williams that brought the Giants lead down to six with 10 minutes remaining.

Eli quickly answered the Bills with a short pass to RB Rashad Jennings who outdid Williams and fought his way 51 yards for the TD. A successful 2 point conversion upped the GMen lead to 24-10 with under 8:00 minutes on the clock.

Prince Amukamara once again stepped up big by field stripping Bills WR Robert Woods of the ball. This took the air out of the Bills and all seemed hopeless. Though Eli teased the Buffalo crowd when he committed his first interception of the year on the Bills 8 yard line by Stephon Gilmore who returned it to the 30.

Down by 14 points the Bills went to work but only managed to march down to the Giants 13 before being sacked backed to the 27 with only 11 seconds on the clock. The ensuing 4th and 19 pass attempt was incomplete. The Giants took over on downs. Eli finished it by taking a knee.

Just like that the Giants are 2-2and waiting for the struggling 49ers.

Player Updates
Victor Cruz:
Last year in Week 6 (October 12, 2014) against the Eagles Cruz suffered a torn patellar tendon in his right knee. He was operated on the following day and have been working on his recovery since.

There were some rumors early this week Victor Cruz might play. That rumor was quicjly put to rest by Wed. Tom Coughlin said there is no timetable for his return.

On Thursday Oct 1, Cruz had a platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injection. This is a new procedure where blood is drawn from the patient. The blood goes through a process called centrifugation to separate the platelets from the other blood cells. The centrifugation process also increases the platelet concentration. These platelets re then added back to the patients blood. Platelet-Rich Plasma has a higher concentration of growth factors. Studies have shown that this increased concentration of growth factors can increase the healing process. We are all hoping this will expedite Victor's recovery. This process may cause pain and discomfort for a couple weeks.
More Info on PRP

Jason 'The Firecracker' Pierre Paul :
The Giants star defensive end is rumored to report to the Giants around the time they play the 49ers. Questions remain on whether or not JPP can return to his ProBowl level of play. This one can get ugly as doctors may say JPP is healthy to play. In other words he will be healthy enough to play. The Giants front office however might be concerned if he is able to chase down QB's and still manage to grab them without a thumb.
Anyone remember this?

Redskins Outlast the Eagles 23-20
Here in the Washington DC area fans are celebrating Kurt Cousins come from behind final drive. Players and coaches also must be relieved and feeling good. This conference is anyone's game and the team that can stay healthy and start achieving some chemistry will be the team to win it.

The struggles of the 1-3 Eagles continue. The safety of their head coach walking to a Cheesesteak street vendor is a deep concern. This team has talent and can quickly rise to the top provided they stay close as they work through their issues.

Cowboys Can't Stop the Saints fall 26-20
The Cowboys lost this one in overtime. It is difficult to ascertain if the Cowboys roster is very deep or the Saints are really that bad. The Cowboys began the game without starters Tony Romo and Dez Bryant. In the first quarter they lost their star linebacker Sean Lee with a concussion. Later in the game RB Lance Dunbar went down with a knee injury and is likely lost for the season. Despite the extensive injuries plaguing the 'Boys they nearly left New Orleans with a win. In this division the Cowboys could be a contender in the end if they continue to play well and can stay with the pack.

NEXT WEEK:
The NFC Least can actually end up losing all four games this upcoming Sunday. My prediction: hey I don't make predictions. Here is why. If I predict the Giants to win they lose, if I pick the Giants to lose they win, unless I pick the Giants to lose just to make them win they lose. For me its all about the Gints so no predictions just a little chatter.

Giants at home against the 49ers
Classic fall game for the GMen. Here they are feeling good about winning 2 in a row. Come on menstay focused here.

Redskins head to Atlanta to face the Falcons
Falcons offense is putting up some numbers. Redskins Defense won't be able to stop them and I doubt their offense will be able to keep up with them. Their best chance to win occurs if the Falcons are looking ahead in their schedule.

Eagles take on the Saints in New Orleans
We have both 1-3 teams. The Saints seem to have developed some upward mobility while the Eagles are still hovering near the ground. Yet the football nation continues to wait for this much ballyhooed Eagles offense to kick in.

Cowboys beefing up security to prepare for Patriots shady ways
Cowboys might as well take their bye this week, give the Pats the default win and finish the week with no additional injuries. But thats not how we do things in America we fight to the bitter end. before the fight begins make sure to pick the Patriots for your suicide pool this week.
